ABOUT MAURICIO
Bilingual TV Producer & Broadcast Director in Miami.
For 17+ years I’ve produced and directed television in the U.S., Mexico, Colombia, Russia, Morocco, and South Africa: live news, political specials, scripted series, and unscripted shows. From the control room, I’ve prepared anchors, reporters, and talent to go on air. Today I use that same process to help professionals speak with clarity in public and on camera.

TV SERIES - SINCE 2007
17+ years directing and producing television.
In scripted television, I was Producer of the Mexico Unit on La Ruta Blanca (Caracol TV / Grupo Imagen, now on Netflix) and Line Producer on Gossip Girl: Acapulco (Warner Bros. International Television). On both series I worked with production teams of more than 150 people, from pre-production to final delivery. I’m UCLA-trained in Film Directing, with additional experience directing actors for television, film, and live performance.
LIVE NEWS · SINCE 2012
Producing and directing live news
I produced daily newscasts for Miami 8 (Estrella Media) and for LBI Media in Los Angeles, including Noticiero Cierre de Edición, En la Mira con Enrique Gratas, En Exclusiva con Myrka Dellanos, and the news specials En la Lucha. My work started in the editorial meeting: choosing the stories, building the rundown, and writing the scripts. Then it moved to the control room, coordinating live shots, satellite remotes, and breaking news while the show was on air.
As a director, I directed I Testigo, Alarma TV, and En Exclusiva con Myrka Dellanos from the control room, working with the technical director and the floor crew, and prepared anchors and reporters to deliver the news clearly on camera.

LIVE EVENTS & BRANDS
From the World Cup to the commercial break.
During the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa and the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, I directed cameras for live events and concerts with Paulina Rubio, Reik, OV7, and Banda El Recodo, and recorded and directed every brand activation with the clients.
As a producer, I’ve made TV commercials for brands like Corona, Tecate, Maseca, and Estrella Jalisco, along with digital content and brand activations. For Maseca’s three-year 360° campaign with Univision, I was in charge of the full production of more than 150 TV capsules.
UNSCRIPTED TELEVISION
Building the game, directing the talent
In unscripted television, I produced two competition shows for LBI Media: Esto es Guerra (Seasons 2–3), the U.S. version adapted from the original Peruvian format, and Reto Famosos (Season 5), an original format. I was part of the producing team that wrote the scripts for the hosts and talent, and a member of the support team for the games and challenges on each show. As part of talent direction, I coached the hosts on what to say to the contestants.

THE TURN TO COACHING
A control-room skill, taught to anyone who steps in front of a camera.
For years I’ve prepared anchors, reporters, and hosts to go on air: what to say, how to say it, and how to keep control when something goes wrong. Today I teach that same process to professionals who need to speak with clarity and authority, in public and on camera. I call it The Screen Method™: not public speaking theory, but the way television gets people ready.
